Between the lake and the Dolomites
Molveno and Trentino are just waiting for you to discover
Molveno
Molveno is a renowned tourist resort located at an altitude of 864 m above sea level on the shores of Lake Molveno and at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites in the Adamello Brenta National Park. The landscape is quite varied and the air is healthy thanks to the far-reaching woods and forests of coniferous and broad-leaved trees that reflect their breathtaking colours off the surface of the lake, changing with the seasons.
The town of Molveno is nestled against this stunning and evocative backdrop. The natural lake, the deepest inTrentino, was formed over millennia by an enormous landslide that created a natural levee. Holidaymakers can make the most of the range of services we offer, from the entertainment provided by our enthusiastic staff to our sports facilities like our children’s and Olympic pools, as well as a whole host of other leisure and relaxation activities. Our daytime and evening activity programme is sure to make your stay an unforgettable experience!
Lake Molveno
Lake Molveno was described by Antonio Fogazzaro as “A precious pearl in the most wonderful setting”.
Voted best Italian lake from 2014 to 2017 by the Touring Club’s and Legambiente’s joint publication thanks to the purity of its waters, its services and its adherence to the municipality’s environmental policies, it is Italy’s deepest alpine lake and is renowned for its crystal-clear waters. It is home to a rich diversity of fish, providing a natural habitat for perch, the Arctic char, marble trout, carp and pike, making it a magnet for keen anglers, while it also attracts bathers despite the coolness of its waters.
The Touring Club has awarded Molveno an orange flag, a mark of quality that certifies small inland towns based on a set of stringent criteria, including touristic, historical and cultural interest and environmental quality. Legambiente has awarded the town five sails for the last nine years.
The Dolomites
The Dolomites, which includes the Brenta Dolomites enclosed within the Adamello Brenta National Park, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This geological phenomenon of outstanding natural beauty overlooks the town of Molveno. This unique backdrop of towers and peaks is the perfect place to trek from one refuge to the next at high altitude or to take on the imposing climbs offered by the Croz dell'Altissimo, the Campanile Basso or the Cima Tosa mountains.
The protected climbing routes (vie ferrate), like the spectacular ‘Bocchette trail’, are just as exciting and awe-inspiring. Book your winter holiday with us at Molveno and enjoy the best ski slopes Italy has to offer, while in the summer, opportunities to explore are endless: mountain bike trails, mountain paths for walking and day trips, trekking, Nordic walking, climbing, fishing, paragliding...
The choice is yours, but whatever you decide, you’ll be amazed by the stunning and unique scenery that surrounds you!
